SPIRITsgj (sgj for Smooth Gospel Jazz) featuring Woodie Douglas on Saxophone was first established in San Jose, CA by its founder, Woodie Douglas. Comprised of some of the finest musicians from Southern California’s Inland Empire, SPIRITsgj has created a sound of Smooth Gospel Jazz that will minister and soothe your spirit.
Let me say that I have really been blessed to be working with some of the finest musicians in the Inland Empire. But most of all, they are all foremost filled with doing the work of the Lord. There is a reason beyond me that this group of talent was brought together for this project, Kristie Rameriz, Rod Tankerson, Hilliary Salley, Gershom Byass, Teddy Roche, Nat Scott, Gina D. Pierce, Cameron Ruffin, and myself. There is also a special friend, Kristie’s twin sister, Kathy Obeso who kept pushing me to get this project started that I have to give a big “Thanks” too.
His plan has been in motion for some time now, but we didn’t know it. Now, here we are together to do your work.
